The QCF
CABWI offers competence-based and knowledge-based qualifications in the QCF (Qualifications and Credit Framework). Competence-based qualifications are designed to be undertaken in the workplace. They allow learners to demonstrate their skills by producing evidence from their work activities, to meet the qualification requirements (which are based on national standards). CABWI offers a number of competence-based qualifications covering water and utilities skills, at Levels 1-4.
We also offer knowledge-based qualifications, at Levels 2 and 3, which are designed to deliver knowledge and understanding, either within an apprenticeship programme, or as standalone qualifications.
Street Works
Street Works qualifications in excavation and reinstatement in the highway were developed to meet the requirements of the New Roads and Street Works Act. There are 16 units, for operatives and supervisors. Holders of the relevant qualifications may act as qualified operatives or supervisors on site.
