CABWI Awarding Body, established in 1991, is one of the leading awarding organisations for the Street Works and Street Works Reassessment schemes in excavation and reinstatement in the highway, and an Ofqual regulated awarding organisation, offering vocational qualifications for those working in the water and wider utilities industries, and related occupations. In 2016, CABWI launched its Third Party Endorsement programme, which is designed to recognise high quality in-house training programmes.

CABWI awards Street Works and Street Works Reassessment qualifications under the New Roads and Street Works Act, and was one of the awarding organisations recognised in 1991 to develop and award the scheme under the original regulations.
CABWI is also recognised by Ofqual to award regulated vocational qualifications. Our current products include competence-based and knowledge-based qualifications, designed, in consultation with industry specialists, to meet the needs of those working in the water and other industries, and related occupations. CABWI’s regulated qualifications provide recognition of the vocational skills and knowledge for those working in key roles within the utilities and support the delivery of water industry apprenticeships.
As an experienced awarding organisation, CABWI participates in the ongoing maintenance and review of the Street Works qualifications, and is committed to the development of its portfolio of regulated vocational qualifications.
If you are supervising or working in the highway, you could be required to hold Street Works qualifications. We can help ensure you are qualified and protected.
CABWI provides water industry, multi-utility and confined spaces regulated vocational qualifications, that sit in the regulated qualifications framework.
CABWI’s new Third Party Endorsement service recognises training courses developed and delivered internally by organisations against robust quality criteria, and results in the provision of dual-branded certificates on completion of endorsed training programmes.
